Red Hills

Red Hills, known locally as Puzhal, is a northern suburb of Chennai famous for the Red Hills Lake (Puzhal reservoir), one of the two major reservoirs that supply drinking water to the city. The reddish laterite soil of the area gives the locality its English name. Located along the Tiruvallur High Road, Red Hills has evolved from a rural settlement into a growing suburban neighbourhood, with increasing residential development attracted by lower land prices and improved road connectivity to the city centre via the Outer Ring Road and NH 205.
