Kathivakkam is a coastal locality in northern Chennai situated along the Bay of Bengal between Ennore and Minjur. The area is dominated by the North Chennai Thermal Power Station (NCTPS), one of Tamil Nadu's major coal-fired power plants, and the Ennore Port (Kamarajar Port).
