Tips for Visitors
- T. Nagar becomes almost impassable in the two weeks before Deepavali, so shop early
- The city's sweet shops are at their best. Try Grand Sweets, Adyar Ananda Bhavan, and Sri Krishna Sweets
- Many residents celebrate at 4–5 AM, and the early morning atmosphere is special
- Air quality drops significantly due to firecrackers, so masks are advisable for sensitive individuals
